Thank you David for your response here. It is incredible just how many of our Armed Forces past and present and their loved ones this affects! I have submitted my personal appeal to the DWP

...and have written to Whitehall - believe it or not, the MOD had no prior knowledge of how Military compensation and death in Service payments were treated by the DWP!!

Many of my friends have written to their own MP's and the PM himself. Another has taken this to RBL HQ in the hope they will also help to lobby Government. I have made as many of the Forces Charities aware of the situation too (Such as SAAFA & ABF) as well as made my recommendations for a change in the basic Military Will Forms with proper Financial advice to be given via my son's Regimental HQ, which will hopefully filter through and up the chain of command to all regiments!

It beggars belief that those who serve and their families can be treated with such disdain by any Government that proports to support our Armed Forces!
