Ready for Kilimanjaro Personal Mission 11 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 12
William's beautiful girlfriend Zeta Price and comrade Rifleman Michael Perry of 9 Platoon, C Company, 2nd Battalion The Rifles are ready for the off!....Embarking on a huge personal mission - to reach the summit of Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Honouring the memory of a much loved partner, colleague, friend and young Hero.

Their journey begins later today (Friday 22nd Oct) when they travel from the UK to Tanzania, marking the start of the penultimate event for the Kilimanjaro 2010 Appeal, launched in October 2009 to raise funds for the RCDM MoD Patient Welfare Fund and the Riflemans Fund.

Zeta will be wearing items of clothing sponsored by one of Herefordshire's local Outdoor Activity Retailers, Explore of Widemarsh Street, Hereford www.explorestore.co.uk/ supplied by Columbia Sportswear Company based in Portland, Orgegan, USA www.columbiasportswear.co.uk/

Much of the necessary equipment Michael and Zeta will be carrying with them has been very generously supplied by 2nd Battalion The Rifles, who have also kindly granted Michael leave to participate in the Kilimanjaro challenge.

Rifleman Perry (pictured below) served alongside William during military operations in Afghanistan on Op Herrick 10.

Day 7 (28th October) of this 10 day adventure, will hopefully see Zeta and Michael safely reach Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro - standing at 5895 metres above sea level and allowing them to feel like they are truly on top of the world!

They will return to the UK on 31st October having completed their mission, with many tales to tell and photos to share....

    ....Updates to follow....
